Beginning with our 30th anniversary in 2008, the Inn began naming guest rooms after influential American culinary figures who have significantly contributed to the evolution of American cuisine. These dedications pay tribute to individuals whose careers have intersected with the Inn and continue to inspire its culinary journey.
Emily Luchetti, born in 1957 in Corning, New York, is a renowned American pastry chef, cookbook author, and educator. After earning a B.A. in Sociology from Denison University in 1979, she pursued culinary studies at the New York Restaurant School and further honed her skills in Paris under chef Gérard Pangaud. Luchetti's distinguished career includes roles at prominent establishments such as Stars, Farallon, and Waterbar in San Francisco. She has authored several acclaimed dessert cookbooks, including "Stars Desserts" and "The Fearless Baker." In 2004, she received the James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Pastry Chef, and in 2012, she was inducted into the Foundation's Who's Who of Food & Beverage in America. Beyond her culinary achievements, Luchetti has served as a dean at the International Culinary Center and as chairperson of Women Chefs & Restaurateurs. She is also the founder of #dessertworthy, a movement promoting mindful indulgence in desserts.
