Gary Danko is an acclaimed American chef renowned for his fusion of French, Mediterranean, and American culinary styles. Born in Massena, New York, he began his culinary journey at 14, working at a local restaurant. He honed his skills at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, graduating in 1977. Danko's career includes notable positions such as executive chef at Beringer Vineyards and Chateau Souverain in California. In 1999, he opened his eponymous restaurant, Gary Danko, near San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf.
